About the role
This internship sits with the Test Engineering team at Micron's Bendemeer site, covering Electrical Failure Analysis and Physical Failure Analysis. The project looks at using data analytics, digital tools and AI to make failure analysis work faster and to improve how laboratory knowledge is managed. It suits a student who is curious about semiconductor failure analysis, laboratory automation and AI-enabled engineering workflows.
What you'll do
- Study laboratory operational metrics, turnaround-time trends and related engineering datasets
- Build dashboards, automation tools or knowledge-management solutions for selected failure analysis workflows
- Try out Micron-qualified AI, Generative AI and AI Assistant tools for knowledge retrieval, reporting and workflow efficiency
- Work with Test Engineering stakeholders to understand failure analysis needs and validate proposed solutions
- Present project findings and recommendations to engineering stakeholders
- Produce a digital or AI-enabled solution that improves a chosen failure analysis workflow
- Deliver a dashboard, automation tool or knowledge-management solution supporting faster data-driven decisions
- Assess improvements in productivity, process visibility or engineering effectiveness
- Prepare final project documentation and a presentation covering methodology, findings, outcomes and recommendations

- High-performing interns may be considered for future internship or full-time roles in Micron's engineering organisation, subject to business needs and hiring requirements
Requirements
- Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science or a related field
- Basic programming knowledge in Python, SQL or a similar language
- Familiarity with data analytics, data visualisation, automation tools or workflow development
- Interest in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Generative AI and AI-enabled engineering applications
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and collaboration skills
- Able to commit to a full-time internship from January to June 2027
