SkillsFuture Jobseeker Support: up to $6,000 while you look for work

Who qualifies

• Singapore Citizen or PR, aged 21 or above. There is no upper age limit.
• You lost your job involuntarily: retrenchment, the business closing, dismissal, or being let go because of illness or injury. Resigning does not count.
• You worked in Singapore for at least 6 of the past 12 months.
• Your average gross monthly income was $5,000 or less (counting the months you worked).
• Your home’s Annual Value is $31,000 or less. Most HDB flats qualify.
• You have not received Jobseeker Support payouts in the past 3 years.

How much it pays

Up to $1,500 in month 1, $1,250 in month 2, $1,000 in month 3, and $750 in each of months 4 to 6: $6,000 in total. Each month is capped at your past average monthly income, and payouts stop once you start a new job. Money is paid by PayNow to your NRIC.

Keeping the payouts: job-search points

Each month you earn points for real job-search activity and upload proof on the Jobseeker Support portal. You need about 10 points a month in months 1 to 3 and 5 points in months 4 to 6.

• A job application counts for 1 point (up to 5 a month). A job interview counts for 4.
• A career coaching session, a career fair, updating your CV on a job portal, and some courses also earn points.
• Check the portal for the current point values: they can change.

How to apply

• Apply online with Singpass at go.gov.sg/jobseekersupport. It takes about 10 minutes.
• Have your termination or retrenchment letter and your CPF contribution history ready (and a medical letter if you were let go for medical reasons).
• You must be out of work for at least a month after your last day before the first payout.
• Most applications are decided within about 10 working days, by email.
