SkillsFuture Level-Up for 40 and above: $4,000 credit and up to $3,000 a month to study

The $4,000 SkillsFuture Credit (Mid-Career)

• Every citizen aged 40 and above gets it, and it does not expire. If you turn 40 later, you get it that year.
• It pays for longer, career-changing courses: diplomas, part-time degrees and other full qualifications at ITE, the polytechnics and universities, and SkillsFuture Career Transition Programmes.
• It cannot be used for short courses. Your regular $500 SkillsFuture Credit covers those.
• From late 2026, around 200 more WSQ full qualifications are being added.

Mid-Career Training Allowance: paid while you study

• Studying full-time: 50% of your average monthly income over the past year, from $300 up to $3,000 a month.
• Studying part-time: $300 a month (from March 2026).
• Up to 24 months in your lifetime, full-time and part-time together.
• For long courses only (full qualifications or Career Transition Programmes), and you must attend as required.

A second diploma, mostly paid for

If you are 40 or above, a full-time diploma at a polytechnic, ITE or arts institution is subsidised by up to 90%, even if you already have a diploma or degree. Most MOE- and SkillsFuture-funded courses cost you as little as 10% of the fee.

How to use it

• Log in to MySkillsFuture with Singpass to see your credit and search eligible courses.
• Apply for the training allowance on the same portal with Singpass once you have a place on a course.
