Assistant Director (Conflict of Interest) Tech Development & Commercialisation

About the role

You will establish and lead a dedicated Conflict of Interest Unit within the Technology Development & Commercialisation team. Your duties include creating frameworks and processes to identify, assess and manage conflict of interest matters across the institution. You will provide expert guidance to leadership and staff on disclosures, regulations and policies, ensuring compliance with institutional and regulatory requirements. You will also analyse complex cases, develop management plans, and review external contracts involving staff. Building strong relationships with clinicians, researchers and industry partners to promote awareness and facilitate compliant research and innovation activities is a key part of the role.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Laws or Bachelor of Science in a relevant scientific/engineering field
• At least 10 years of relevant experience in academic and/or industrial environment involving research grant administration and contract and/or project management
• Knowledge and understanding of contract and corporate law principles
• Ability to work effectively and assertively influence key stakeholders
• Confident self-starter with initiative and capable of working successfully within a team
• Excellent interpersonal communication, organisational and administrative skills
