About the role

This role sits within the Division of Benign Gynaecology in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, supporting the SWANS Menopause Centre of Excellence. You will provide specialised, holistic care for midlife women going through the menopausal transition, working alongside gynaecologists, mental health specialists, family medicine specialists, physiotherapists and dietitians. It suits a doctor with recognised specialist qualifications who is current in menopausal hormone therapy and evidence-based menopause care.

Deliver specialised, holistic care for midlife women in the menopausal transition, covering menopausal symptoms, weight management, hyperlipidaemia, diabetes, hypertension, obesity, osteoporosis and other chronic conditions.

Lead outpatient clinics, multidisciplinary consultations and quality improvement initiatives supporting SWANS as a national Centre of Excellence for menopause care.

Work closely with other SWANS team members to provide integrated, patient-centred care tailored to midlife women.

Consult the Head of Division or Programme Lead on complex cases such as iatrogenic menopause, high-risk patients and cancer-related menopausal symptoms.

Contribute to implementing best evidence-based practices in menopause care.

Take part in teaching, mentorship and research relevant to SWANS, including training and developing junior staff, medical students and nurses.

Contribute to programme development, evaluation and quality initiatives.

Undertake other duties appropriate to the Associate Consultant level and above as needed to support service needs.

Good to know

Indicative duty allocation is 70% clinical care and 30% teaching, mentorship and research.
You report to the Head of the Division of Benign Gynaecology / SWANS Programme Lead, and upwards to the Head of Department.
The role is expected to embrace NUHS TRICEP values and demonstrate leadership competencies such as embracing change, leading, thinking strategically and training junior clinicians.

Requirements

MBBS or equivalent with completed relevant specialist training
Recognised specialist qualifications in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, MRCP or equivalent specialist accreditation
Full registration with the Singapore Medical Council preferred; conditional registration may be considered
Clinical experience in women's health and menopause care is desirable
Candidates with equivalent specialist experience or training may be considered
Up to date in menopausal hormone therapy and other evidence-based interventions for menopausal women
