About the role

This role is based in the production kitchen of The Singapore EDITION, supporting the culinary team with ingredient prep and cooking tasks. It suits someone with some kitchen experience who is comfortable working on their feet for long shifts and following set recipes and standards.

Prepare ingredients by portioning, chopping and storing food
Wash and peel fresh fruit and vegetables
Weigh, measure and mix ingredients
Cook food following recipes, quality and presentation standards and the prep checklist
Prepare cold dishes
Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers
Test food to check it is cooked sufficiently
Monitor food quality during preparation
Set up and break down your work station
Serve food in correct portions onto the right receptacles
Wash and disinfect the kitchen area, tables, tools, knives and equipment
Check appliance and food temperatures are correct
Follow company safety and security policies and procedures
Report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries and unsafe conditions to the manager
Complete safety training and certifications
Keep uniform and personal appearance clean and professional
Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets
Communicate clearly and professionally with others
Build and maintain positive working relationships and support the team to reach common goals
Listen and respond appropriately to other employees' concerns
Ensure quality expectations and standards are met
Stand, sit or walk for extended periods or an entire shift
Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling and stooping
Move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects up to 25 pounds without assistance
Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors

Requirements

High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
At least 1 year of related work experience
No supervisory experience required
Able to stand, sit or walk for extended periods or an entire shift
Able to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling and stooping
Able to move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects up to 25 pounds without assistance
