About the role

This role sits in the People Team at Changi Airport Group, where you will help build a scalable HR data infrastructure as part of the organisation's digital transformation. You will work alongside a People Data Architect to create a central data middle layer within the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem, supporting people analytics and AI work. It suits an experienced data engineer who enjoys complex system logic and a fast-moving environment.

What you'll do

Build and maintain the People Data Middle Layer using Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse to bring together HR data sources.
Carry out large-scale data transformations and complex business logic in Fabric scheduled pipelines and notebooks, using PySpark and Python for ingestion, transformation and distribution.

Integrate core HR platforms such as SAP SuccessFactors, ServiceNow and Cornerstone OnDemand through a mix of direct APIs via Azure API Management, flat file exports and custom connectors.

Handle complex data mapping work, including reconciling time values from scheduling systems with SAP SuccessFactors template codes, and apply HR business rules to close data gaps and build semantic models.

Work in an agile setting where requirements and project scopes change, engaging HR stakeholders to define needs, agree deliverables under tight timelines and refine data solutions.

Set up automated data lineage, metadata management and quality checks within Fabric to maintain data integrity across HR systems.

Curate semantic layers and data marts in Microsoft Fabric to feed Power BI so HR stakeholders can access clean datasets directly.

Enforce PDPA compliance and internal security policies with strict access controls and encryption for confidential data such as NRIC, salary and performance ratings, including protection of sensitive reports and secure handling during development.

Requirements

Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Engineering or a related field
4 to 8 years of dedicated data engineering experience
Strong operational focus on Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Fabric data stacks
Advanced proficiency in Python (PySpark) and T-SQL for complex data manipulation, semantic data modelling and business logic
Proven experience navigating dynamic engineering requirements, managing scope changes and communicating technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to model and integrate highly disparate HR systems using varied ingestion methods (APIs, flat files, SFTP, connectors)
