Deputy / Assistant Director, Design Management (Workplace Experience Programme)

About the role

Lead and develop the design team for the Workplace Experience Programme, coaching designers and design leads to grow their craft and leadership capability. Establish the experience and design direction across the programme, translating organisational goals and user needs into a coherent vision that guides multiple product teams. Champion end-to-end workplace journeys across digital, operational and physical touchpoints, identifying fragmentation and shaping how these come together coherently for public officers. Govern portfolio-level experience principles and quality standards, and evolve the shared design system with product and engineering leadership. Drive cross-functional alignment and strengthen design's strategic influence alongside product and engineering leaders.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in product or experience design
• Experience at senior, lead, principal or design management level
• Extensive experience leading design for a portfolio of products and experiences
• Strong systems thinking across multiple products, channels and touchpoints
• Ability to articulate design vision and strategy to senior stakeholders
• Proven ability to establish and govern quality standards and shared design systems at scale
