About the role

You will join the Material Management Department within the SIA Engineering Division, focusing on purchasing work that keeps spares and materials available for operations. The role suits someone with a diploma, SAP familiarity and an eye for detail in a fast-moving engineering environment.

What you'll do

Process outstanding purchase requisitions in SAP
Source the most competitive pricing and availability
Challenge vendors on price escalation beyond PSAA, SSC or BFE contracts
Place orders to ensure spares availability through timely routine purchasing
Evaluate chemicals, bulk materials, change kits and spares inventory levels, consumption and reorder lead-time for optimum stock levels

Track delivery progress of spares against listed lead time and ensure purchase orders are completed

Liaise with vendors so delivery schedules meet operational needs and after-sales support

Investigate and resolve discrepancy reports from spares delivery

Review outstanding price variance to prevent invoice payment delays

Prevent aging price variance through constant monitoring

Ensure spares availability to prevent task card withdrawals

Review spares periodically for task card requirements

Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

Shift work is required

Requirements

Diploma, preferably in Engineering
Familiar with SAP, including SQ01, MB51 and MMBE
Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint, including pivot tables for trending and analysis and preparing PowerPoint material
Support commercial negotiation for fixed price
Knowledge and relevant experience in Material Management operations, administration and procedures preferred
Able to engage directly with vendors and line engineers on the shop floor
