About the role
This role sits within the Flight Services & Fuel Efficiency department at the SIA Operations Control Centre. You will help track flights and support operational decisions that keep services running smoothly. It suits someone with a flight operations or piloting background who is comfortable with shift work.
What you'll do
Track SIA flights and share relevant flight updates with the parties involved.
Review route and operational safety information, including airport facility closures such as runways and fueling points, industrial unrest, weather warnings, and crew flight time limits, and assess how these affect flights.
Update operations crew through ACARS when needed.
Work to reduce flight delays and passenger disruption.

Arrange extra flights, charters or relief flights when required.
Manage delays or special diversions to enroute stations or airports when commercial, economic or technical situations call for it.
Follow set procedures for accidents or incidents involving SIA aircraft and property, and for emergencies such as hijackings, bomb threats or medical emergencies on SIA or Star-Alliance partner flights in Singapore.
Examine why flight delays happen and how they were handled, to improve techniques and prevent or reduce repeats.
Monitor flight progress and revise or update flight plans, noting changes in critical fuel scenarios for EDTO.
Liaise with technical crew and flight dispatchers on flight plan changes, in-flight rerouting due to revised operating conditions, airspace or weather matters, and further route optimisation.
Provide flight planning support during IRROPS.
Watch significant weather such as typhoons, volcanic ash and severe weather around terminal airspaces, and provide rerouting and information for operational resilience.
Monitor ad-hoc significant disruption to air routes or airspaces.
Coordinate arrival and departure sequencing, European Delay Management, Tactical Cost Index Adjustment and similar tasks.
Maintain Flight Dispatch currency.
Support fuel initiative operations.
Make sure SIN ATFM Management Measures are passed to the crew.
Carry out any other duties assigned by the department.

Shift duties are required for this operational role.
Training typically runs for 12 months, with duration for experienced candidates assessed case by case.
You must complete the training programme and competency assessments before being appointed as Flight Controller.
A bond is required for the training period and two years after.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree, preferably with a flight operations background or pilots ATPL
