About the role
This senior role leads the strategy, design and rollout of data management capabilities for the Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) business, working closely with the Group Chief Data Office, Technology & Operations and other central teams. It suits an experienced data leader who can shape enterprise-wide transformation, govern capability delivery and advise senior business stakeholders.
What you'll do
Define and execute the CIB data management capability strategy in line with business priorities, Group data strategy and applicable risk, regulatory and control requirements
Champion continuous innovation and a forward-looking data management culture across CIB
Partner with relevant teams to identify required data capabilities and shape target solutions
Work with Group CDO, T&O, CFCR, CIB and other functions to remove blockers to rollout, adoption and effective use of data capabilities
Act as a trusted advisor to senior CIB stakeholders on data capabilities
Lead design and implementation of the approach used across the CIB Data Governance & Management COE for discovery, root cause analysis, remediation design, capacity planning, funding estimation and change delivery
Establish mechanisms to identify CIB data needs and design target data capabilities
Engage and negotiate with stakeholders to secure support, funding and resources, including training and awareness campaigns to drive adoption
Provide advisory on data capability design, implementation, rollout and adoption
Establish governance mechanisms to oversee capability design, delivery, adoption, effectiveness, risks and issues across 1LOD, 2LOD and 3LOD
Maintain the CIB data capability demand backlog
Drive continuous simplification, digitisation and automation of data management capabilities across their lifecycle
Represent CIB in enterprise and CIB programmes and transformation initiatives
Build, lead and develop a high-performing team managing large-scale global transformation projects
Promote the Bank's valued behaviours and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and innovation
Mentor stakeholders across the bank to uplift data culture, literacy and ownership
Design and implement frameworks, controls and practices for effective data capability management in line with regulatory, client and legal requirements
Establish an engagement model with business, technology, operations, CDO, compliance and audit stakeholders, including chairing or participating in forums and PgSCs
Define escalation paths for data capability risks and issues and drive them to closure
Display exemplary conduct and comply with all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct
Identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters

Requirements
Experience leading large-scale, enterprise-wide, global transformation projects relating to data risk enablers and capabilities
Ability to independently manage complex global programmes
Strong stakeholder influence and negotiation skills at senior levels
Knowledge of data management, data governance and data risk frameworks
Understanding of regulatory, compliance and control requirements relevant to data
Ability to design and implement governance, controls and engagement models
