You will manage physical metal movements, clearing and settlement activities, and daily controls while working with front office, risk, legal and technology colleagues. Look into unmatched, failed or wrongly booked trades and help resolve them quickly
Arrange approved physical metal movements with vaults, carriers, counterparties and other service providers
Check movement instructions, bar lists, quantities, weights, fineness, locations and supporting paperwork
Keep full chain-of-custody and movement records
Match internal inventory records against vault and third-party statements
Escalate shortages, discrepancies, delays and control breaches without delay
Carry out or oversee trade, position, cash, margin, inventory and fee reconciliations for clearing arrangements
Investigate clearing breaks and work with brokers, clearers, front office, Finance and Technology to fix them
Track settlement obligations, delivery positions, margin requirements and aged exceptions
Ensure clearing and settlement records are complete and accurate
Own daily operational controls and keep suitable evidence
Monitor aged breaks, failed settlements, inventory exceptions and control issues
Perform root-cause analysis and put in place lasting fixes
Maintain procedures, control documentation and management information
Support audits, regulatory reviews, risk assessments and incident investigations
Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
Assess operational readiness for new products, markets, counterparties and system changes
Lead testing, implementation and post-deployment monitoring for relevant enhancements
Drive automation and process redesign to strengthen controls and cut manual risk
Manage relationships with front office, risk, legal, compliance, finance, technology and external providers
Supervise daily work allocation, control completion and exception escalation
Coach team members and maintain adequate cross-training and coverage
