About the role

This role leads the Cancer Education & Information Service unit at the National Cancer Centre Singapore, providing strategic direction, day-to-day management and quality assurance while driving patient support programmes. You will work closely with the multidisciplinary oncology team to deliver information, emotional support and holistic care to patients throughout their cancer journey. It suits an experienced manager with a healthcare, education or outreach background who is comfortable leading teams and managing budgets.

What you'll do

Lead and supervise a team of nurse counsellors and support staff, ensuring evidence-based, patient-centred care and counselling for patients and their families.

Maintain an efficient system for communicating information to staff, patients, their families and the public.

Lead the Cancer Helpline Service, ensuring accurate, timely and empathetic cancer-related information and support, and drive service excellence through protocols, service standards and escalation procedures.

Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners to promote anti-cancer advocacy in line with NCCS's corporate mission.

Improve patient satisfaction and public perception of NCCS through CEIS patient and family education programmes and services.

Develop and manage patient engagement initiatives across digital and physical platforms, such as chatbots and the patient resource centre, using feedback to drive service improvements.

Collaborate with departments within NCCS to share expertise and resources on cancer education materials, programmes and initiatives.

Oversee risk management and compliance for cancer support services, covering information accuracy, data protection, regulatory adherence and risk assessment across the helpline, outreach, resource centre and digital platforms.

Plan and coordinate yearly unit work plans, capital and operational budgets, and the training budget for submission to the Head of Department.

Monitor use of approved budgets and resource allocation to ensure cost-effective spending, and source funding support for public, patient and family education programmes including reimbursement from funding organisations.

Requirements

Recognised Bachelor's or Master's degree in business management, health administration, public health, education or a healthcare-related field
At least 3 years in a managerial or equivalent role
Strong organisational and project management skills
Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Able to adapt to emerging treatments and patient education needs
