About the role

You will join the Securities Finance Operations team at a long-established Singapore bank, reporting to the Vice President. The role covers the full lifecycle of securities finance transactions, including lending, borrowing, repo, corporate actions, collateral and margin work. It suits someone with solid technical knowledge of these products and hands-on banking operations experience who can also guide junior colleagues.

What you'll do

Oversee daily processing of securities lending, borrowing and repurchase agreement transactions
Ensure trades settle accurately and on time, positions are reconciled and discrepancies resolved

Apply knowledge of corporate action event types, how they affect trades, and their settlement

Manage collateral movements, margin calls and substitution requests within internal policies and regulatory rules

Monitor collateral valuations and make sure coverage and haircuts are appropriate

Handle collateral and margin settlement plus month-end fee and interest payments

Identify and escalate operational risks and exceptions in securities finance activity

Keep to regulatory guidelines such as SEC, MAS and HKMA rules and internal controls

Support audit and regulatory reviews with documentation and explanations

Drive efficiency through automation, process redesign and technology adoption

Work with IT and business stakeholders on system enhancements and operational issues

Liaise between front office, middle office, risk, legal and external counterparties for smooth transaction flow

Provide timely, accurate reporting to management and external parties

Mentor junior team members and oversee their daily work to maintain quality output

Take part in training and development programmes to upskill the team

Weekend and public holiday work may be required
This is a 100% work-in-office role based in Tampines
A 5-minute assessment test will be given during the interview

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics or a related field
At least 5 years in securities finance operations, ideally at a bank or financial institution
Strong grasp of securities lending, borrowing, repo transactions and collateral management
Knowledge of securities finance regulations and market practices
Proficiency in trade lifecycle management, settlement processes and reconciliations
Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
