About the role

This role is a patient-facing pharmacy position at TTSH, starting as a Pharmacy Assistant with a pathway to become a Pharmacy Technician. It suits people who are keen on medicines and their effects on the body, enjoy helping the public, and can stay accurate in a busy setting. Mid-career switchers are welcome.

What you'll do

Handle phone and walk-in enquiries from patients and their next-of-kin

Provide financial counselling on government schemes, subsidies and insurance schemes

Conduct medication supply verification for patients at assigned clinics

Pick, pack and label medication prescriptions quickly and accurately within set timeframes

Re-label and print summary labels, correct typing errors, file and count prescriptions

Manage drug stock and inventory, including monitoring buffer stock, checking near-expiry medicines and receiving goods from the store

Spot prescription or prescription processing errors and clarify with prescribers and rectify prescriptions

Carry out ad-hoc duties as needed

Initial 8-week hourly rated contract as a Pharmacy Assistant
Depending on performance, a 1-year renewable contract as a Pharmacy Assistant may be offered
Depending on performance, sponsorship for the Certified Pharmacy Technician Course (CPTC) may be available to certify and progress as a Pharmacy Technician
Office hours: Mondays to Fridays, half days on Saturdays, and may be rostered on Sundays and public holidays

Requirements

At least 3 GCE O-level credits in English, Mathematics and Science, or a NITEC/Diploma in any discipline
Healthcare-related work experience is an advantage
CPTC certificate holders may apply directly as a Pharmacy Technician
A team player with strong interpersonal skills
A passion for healthcare and customer service
Independent and meticulous
