About the role
This role provides all-round engineering support for a client's JAPAC property portfolio, keeping building services systems and contingency procedures compliant with contract terms and local regulations. You will report to the Global Engineering Lead and be accountable for staffing levels, competencies and development of regional engineering teams. It suits a seasoned engineering leader who has managed technical services in critical, high-profile environments across multiple regions.
What you'll do
Lead the regional team and run monthly and quarterly meetings
Act as escalation point for regional issues and follow up until resolved
Integrate activities across engineering teams to keep best practice and training consistent
Drive engineering compliance programmes and assurance functions to meet targets and platform needs

Align service delivery across the account
Report in a matrix to engineering platform, governance, reliability, sustainability and critical engineering teams
Ensure 95% PPM completion by month end
Help manage reactive work orders within SLA limits
Keep all building systems operating competently and efficiently, including HV operations
Help coordinate and control activities of specialist service providers
Check specialist service provider worksheets, inspect work quality and action or escalate defects and recommendations
Help obtain quotations and order parts needed to maintain plant operation and system resilience
Arrange specialist service provider visits and reactive calls when needed
Keep the engineering control room, plant areas, workshops, stores and rest areas at the highest housekeeping standard
Support teams in creating project justifications, scopes of work, pricing and delivery of capital works
Support local teams in keeping asset data correct and up to date
Follow all local processes and escalation procedures
Be familiar with standard and emergency operating procedures and train shift engineers where needed
Ensure controlled switching of UPS, generators, HV and LV switchgear for maintenance or failure recovery is done safely
Develop and maintain a 5-year capital plan (CAR) with other engineering teams based on asset data and reliability records
Record, update and track to completion all risks that could affect asset uptime

Requirements
Direct experience directing technical services in a critical, high-profile environment, preferably in both self-delivered and outsourced engineering contracts
Seasoned leader experienced in managing diverse teams across multiple regions
Experience in operational facilities management and managing services to meet KPIs
Knowledge of sustainability practices, innovations and energy management
Understanding of building regulations, legislation compliance and best working practice
Experience in financial management and budgeting, including identifying cost savings or avoidance
