About the role

You will join the Risk Analytics, Intelligence & Surveillance (RAISe) unit within Singapore Consumer Financial Services, reporting to a Risk Surveillance Manager. The team builds a risk surveillance and continuous monitoring framework using data analytics and detection methods to spot, assess and report material risk trends and incidents. This suits a degree holder with at least four years in risk management, compliance, regulatory or audit work who wants to grow in risk surveillance.

What you'll do

Run pulse checks and validate how effective controls are in the Financial Crime and Operational Risk domains.

Carry out continuous surveillance using data to surface risk insights and track trends.

Test departmental control procedures and conduct thematic reviews on Financial Crime and Operational Risk, with exposure to other risk pillars.

Present risk insights to business units to strengthen risk culture and conduct.

Track flagged risks closely and make sure stakeholders and the team follow up on all actions needed for closure.

Check the quality of reviews done by business stakeholders and report any material lapses.

Apply advanced techniques to conduct thorough risk surveillance and test business process controls for relevance and effectiveness.

Articulate, escalate and report testing and review results to management and business stakeholders, highlighting material findings for risk mitigation and promoting best practices.

Proactively spot potential new risk insights or trends during operations and discuss them with Risk Surveillance Managers for further analysis.

Engage regularly and tactfully with CFS departments during review, testing, monitoring and reporting activities.

You may rotate, lead and take ownership in one of the areas within your team.
The role reports to the Risk Surveillance Manager and sits under the Head of RAISe.
The unit reports to the Head of CFS Risk and Prevention.

Requirements

Degree holder aiming for a career in risk management and surveillance
At least 4 years of experience in risk management, compliance, regulatory or audit
Good grasp of consumer banking products and processes is preferred
Strong understanding of risk assessment and review methods for Financial Crime and Operational risk and controls
Certification in AML/CFT or operational risk related courses
Strong risk acumen with extensive use of data
