About the role
You will join the security team at The Singapore EDITION, a hotel on Cuscaden Road, keeping guests, staff and the property safe. The role suits someone who stays calm in emergencies, follows procedures closely and is comfortable on their feet for long stretches. No prior security experience is needed.
Patrol every part of the property and help guests get into their rooms
Watch CCTV, perimeter alarms, duress alarms and the fire life safety system
Lock property entrances when needed
Carry out daily checks for physical hazards
Respond to accidents and call EMS or give first aid/CPR when required
Help guests and staff during emergencies
Tell the right people about accidents, attacks or other incidents
Calm down disturbances involving guests or staff
Call for outside help when necessary
Write incident reports for all security and loss prevention matters
Handle interruptions and complaints
Sort out safety hazard situations
Escort unwelcome people off the property without disrupting operations
Go to scenes of vehicle accidents or thefts
Use correct code responses to call for assistance
Complete a loss prevention shift summary or daily activity report
Keep security and property reports confidential and share them only with authorised people
Conduct investigations and gather evidence
Interview the people involved
Follow company policies and procedures, report accidents, injuries and unsafe conditions to your manager, and complete safety training and certifications
Keep your uniform and appearance clean and professional, protect company assets and keep proprietary information confidential
Welcome guests to company standards, anticipate and address their needs, assist people with disabilities and thank guests sincerely
Speak clearly and professionally and prepare written documents accurately
Build positive working relationships and support the team in reaching shared goals
Meet quality assurance expectations and standards
Stand, sit or walk for long periods, including a whole shift
Read and visually check information in different formats, including small print
Visually inspect tools, equipment or machines to spot defects
Enter and find work information using computers or point of sale systems
Move at the speed needed to respond, such as running, walking or jogging
Move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects up to 50 pounds alone and over 75 pounds with help
Grasp, turn and handle objects of different sizes and weights with fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination
Move through narrow, confined or elevated spaces
Move over sloping, uneven or slippery surfaces and up and down stairs or service ramps
Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling and stooping
Perform other reasonable duties asked by supervisors
