About the role

This role sits with the Communications and Strategic Relations team at a medical school campus in Outram, creating visual content and short-form copy for events, corporate communications, social media and marketing campaigns across digital and print. You will also design and produce premiums, signage, logos and environmental branding that reinforce the School's brand. It suits a creative, detail-oriented designer who can pair strong design and multimedia production skills with solid writing ability.

Propose creative concepts, visual ideas and key visuals for branding projects from ideation to final execution

Produce high-quality, scalable, brand-compliant visual content for communications, marketing, events and brand projects

Work with team members and internal stakeholders to turn communication objectives and brand strategy into concepts, key messages and visual storytelling across channels including social media

Write short-form copy such as headlines, social media posts, campaign messaging, captions and event materials

Contribute occasional short stories and event coverage, including event write-ups and staff recognition stories

Uphold brand integrity in visual style and tone of voice, and ensure digital content follows SEO and GEO best practices

Proofread and check own work for accuracy, clarity, tone and consistency before publication

Coordinate with agencies, printers, production vendors and external partners

Support photography and videography assignments, including event coverage, photo and video shoots, video editing and simple animations

Support other departments with their multimedia design needs, and perform other duties as assigned

Actual appointment job title will be commensurate with years of relevant experience
Entry-level candidates or Diploma holders with at least 5 years of relevant experience may be considered and appointed as Executive if successful

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Communication Design or a related discipline
Strong portfolio showing concept development, typography, layout, visual storytelling and graphic execution
Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and strong proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and Canva, with willingness to develop skills on other creative platforms
Versatility in developing creative solutions across different design styles and project requirements
Good instinct for clear, engaging writing and careful editing, with ability to adapt tone and style for different audiences and platforms
Strong communication skills and meticulous attention to detail
