About the role

This role leads the engineering and maintenance function for process equipment at a biopharma manufacturing site in Tuas, ensuring safe, reliable and compliant operations. You will oversee equipment lifecycle management, from design review and commissioning through qualification, validation, routine maintenance and continuous improvement. It suits an experienced engineer with a strong bio/pharmaceutical background who can lead teams and drive reliability and capital projects.

What you'll do

Lead operation, maintenance and reliability of production equipment so manufacturing runs without interruption
Drive preventive and corrective maintenance programmes to maximise equipment availability, reliability and compliance
Ensure maintenance work is carried out safely, efficiently and in line with cGMP, EHS and engineering standards

Monitor system performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives to lift operational efficiency

Lead engineering execution of CAPEX projects, equipment upgrades and site modifications from planning to implementation

Work with stakeholders so projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and compliant with regulations

Manage contractors and service providers to ensure quality project execution

Support commissioning, qualification (IQ/OQ), documentation and project handover

Lead deviation investigations, CAPA implementation and compliance improvement initiatives

Drive operational excellence, reliability improvement and cost optimisation programmes across the site

Monitor departmental budgets, OPEX/CAPEX spending and resource utilisation

Requirements

Degree in a relevant engineering field with at least 4 years of relevant engineering experience, or a Technical Diploma with at least 6 years
At least 5 years of technical experience in the bio/pharma industry (Degree holders) or at least 7 years (Technical Diploma holders)
Highly knowledgeable and competent in your field
Strong technical knowledge across all technical aspects
Demonstrates excellent GMP behaviour and safe practices
Substantial fault-finding and troubleshooting experience
