About the role

Visa's Authorization Operations team keeps the company's real-time payment processing platforms running across multiple data centres. You would be the first point of contact for internal support teams, watching system consoles and helping to resolve or hand over issues that could affect clients or the Visa brand. It suits someone with strong technical, analytical and customer service skills who is comfortable working in a 24x7 operations setting.

What you'll do

Monitor Authorization TPF and OVN consoles and give first-level response to help mitigate or clear issues affecting the Authorization systems.
Operate and monitor Visa Authorization systems across a multi-datacentre, multi-processing environment.
Enter precise console commands to resolve issues under the direction of the relevant support teams.

Track, update and close assigned incidents, changes and problem tickets in the service management system, keeping documentation thorough and accurate.

Help team members in the ticketing system, follow up on tickets assigned to the team and department, and review tickets for trends and improvement areas.

Proactively watch for and flag a variety of system alerts.

Escalate incidents promptly according to support guidelines and procedures.

Work with L2 and L3 support groups and development groups on changes, incidents and problems.

Follow documented support procedures and manage each issue through resolution or handover to maintain service levels.

Take part in team meetings, both in person and virtually.

Gather relevant information and oversee the activity of other team members.

Support intra-team communication and documentation, and help create or improve team processes with L2 support or subject matter experts.

Develop, edit and distribute operational procedures.

Build technical skills through ongoing training.

Represent the Authorization Operations team in cross-functional meetings when needed.

This is essential staff supporting Visa's 24x7x365 operations, with specific duties during severe weather or disaster events.
Visa requires at least 3 days in the office per week; the exact days are confirmed by your hiring manager.
Location is Singapore.

Requirements

At least 2 years of relevant work experience plus a Bachelor's degree, or 5 or more years of relevant work experience
Hands-on support of critical applications on IBM TPF or similar real-time operating systems, or on open-source distributed systems such as Linux, Kubernetes and Kafka
Experience in a large datacentre environment with mainframe or open systems hardware, software and utilities in tightly or loosely coupled multi-processing setups
Familiarity with one or more of Linux, Unix, MVS, VM, SuperVision, HMC, ServiceNow, CoPilot, ChatGPT, Kubernetes, Kafka, Opera, DB2, ClickHouse/Splunk or Cassandra
Strong troubleshooting, critical-thinking and incident management skills
Excellent verbal and written communication and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise a changing workload
