About the role

Adyen is hiring a Team Lead for its Customer Due Diligence (CDD) department in Singapore, supporting regional growth. You will manage a Singapore-based team that reviews new and existing merchants from a risk, regulatory and compliance perspective, working closely with Sales, Account Management, Compliance and Product teams. This role suits an experienced people manager who can balance regulatory and commercial needs while driving quality, speed and a strong customer experience.

What you'll do

Lead and develop a team handling onboarding and risk assessments of new and existing merchants, ensuring compliance and managing escalations
Set clear expectations and monitor KPIs, SLAs and quality across the onboarding lifecycle
Manage individual and team performance through 1:1s, coaching and performance reviews

Drive a performance culture focused on quality and customer experience

Identify skill gaps and build structured development plans for team growth and scalability

Lead process improvement initiatives and collaborate with Compliance, Product, Sales and Account Management

Use data to inform decisions, prioritise initiatives and measure impact on efficiency, risk quality and customer experience

Collaborate with regional and global teams to share best practices and drive alignment

Foster a motivated, engaged and safe team environment that encourages ownership and continuous improvement

Requirements

5+ years of direct people management experience in CDD, KYC or EDD operations, or equivalent Second Line Risk or Compliance role in FinTech, payments or financial services
Working knowledge of AML, CDD, EDD, KYC, PCI, Card Scheme rules and internal controls frameworks
Highly organised and detail-oriented, able to manage and prioritise multiple operational tracks
Experience coaching and developing team members from junior to senior levels
Hands-on leader willing to review complex risk cases and act as a technical SME
Strong cross-functional collaborator able to streamline merchant onboarding processes
