About the role
You will join the engineering team at The St. Regis Singapore, handling repair and upkeep work across guest rooms, kitchens and building systems. This hands-on role suits someone with general maintenance experience who enjoys fixing things and helping guests.
What you'll do
Attend to guest repair requests and resolve maintenance issues
Carry out preventive maintenance on tools and kitchen and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication
Inspect tools, equipment and machines visually
Carry equipment such as tools and radios
Locate and operate shut-off valves and utility shut-offs
Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies
Hand over daily activities and problems to other shifts through approved communication channels
Apply basic knowledge of air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic and electronic systems, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation or general building
Prepare surfaces, paint, and do minor drywall and wood trim repairs
Replace light bulbs and A/C filters and clean up the work area thoroughly
Test, troubleshoot and repair equipment, plumbing such as toilets and drains, electrical components, lamps, extension cords, vacuum cleaners and internet devices, and replace switches and outlets
Program TVs and handle housekeeping and engineering inventory duties
Use the Lockout/Tagout system before maintenance work
Repair interior and exterior landscaping and external sprinklers
Input air handler schedules and adjust temperatures using basic computer skills
Follow safety and security policies, report hazards and complete safety training
Keep uniform and appearance clean and professional, maintain confidentiality and protect company assets
Welcome guests, anticipate their needs, assist those with disabilities and thank them
Build positive working relationships and support the team
Move, lift, carry, push and pull objects up to 50 pounds, and heavier items with help
Move up and down stairs, ramps and ladders, and reach overhead and below the knees
Enter and find work information using computers
Perform other reasonable job duties as requested

Requirements
High school diploma or G.E.D equivalent
Some experience in general maintenance, exterior and interior surface preparation and painting
Driver's License
Hotel engineering or maintenance experience is a plus
