About the role

Holiday Inn Express Singapore Serangoon is hiring an Operations Manager to run the day-to-day running of the hotel, covering rooms, food and beverage, housekeeping, engineering, outsourced services and security. You will work closely with the General Manager and department leaders, and the role also carries responsibility as the hotel's Sustainability Champion. It suits someone with a hospitality operations background who is comfortable juggling many priorities at once.

What you'll do

Oversee all hotel operations, including rooms, food and beverage, housekeeping, engineering, outsourced services such as laundry, building services and security
Monitor vendor performance, service standards, billing accuracy, contract compliance and the quality of outsourced functions
Ensure the hotel meets IHG brand standards, sustainability requirements and operational procedures
Act as the hotel's Sustainability Champion and lead sustainability initiatives across all departments
Create and execute sustainability strategies and action plans that align with corporate goals and regulatory requirements
Develop and deliver training programmes on sustainability practices, compliance standards and operational procedures
Oversee sustainability projects such as waste reduction, energy efficiency and resource management
Hold monthly sustainability meetings with Department Leaders to review progress and compliance
Track sustainability metrics and prepare reports and presentations for Management
Keep risk management and sustainability programmes in line with environmental regulations and industry standards
Develop, review and maintain sustainability policies, procedures and operational guidelines
Maintain hotel licences and statutory compliance, including the Occupation Certificate, Liquor Licence compliance and other regulatory approvals
Work with hotel departments, outsourced service providers, regulatory authorities and external partners
Conduct regular operational reviews and inspections to keep service quality and brand standards up
Support the General Manager on operational initiatives, projects and continuous improvement programmes
Identify ways to improve efficiency, productivity, cost management, sustainability performance and guest satisfaction
Keep accurate operational records, compliance documentation and monthly reporting
Take ownership of daily operational activities and maximise productivity through planning and execution

Requirements

At least 3 years in an operations management role in hospitality
Strong knowledge of hotel operations, including housekeeping, engineering, security and guest services
Experience managing outsourced service providers and contractor relationships
Knowledge of sustainability initiatives, environmental compliance and ESG practices is an advantage
Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
Excellent organisational, analytical and problem-solving abilities
