About the role
This role supports the room service operation at The Singapore EDITION, helping lead the team so guests receive smooth, attentive service. It suits someone with supervisory experience in food and beverage or hotel service who is comfortable on their feet and hands-on during shifts.
Keep the team working together so service standards and guest needs are met
Check staff grooming and attire, and correct any issues
Handle opening and closing duties such as setting up supplies and tools, cleaning equipment and areas, and locking doors
Check storage areas for organisation, FIFO use and cleanliness
Carry out scheduled stock counts and order necessary supplies
Watch the dining room for seating availability, service, safety and guest wellbeing
Raise work orders for maintenance repairs
Help management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counselling, disciplining, motivating and coaching employees
Act as a role model and first point of contact for the Guarantee of Fair Treatment/Open Door Policy
Follow company safety and security policies, report accidents, injuries and unsafe conditions, and complete safety training and certifications
Keep uniform and personal appearance clean and professional, maintain confidentiality, and protect company assets
Welcome guests to company standards, anticipate and address their needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests sincerely
Communicate clearly and professionally, build positive working relationships, support the team, and respond to colleagues' concerns
Maintain quality standards and suggest ways to improve efficiency, productivity, quality, safety or cost savings
Read and visually verify information in different formats, and visually inspect tools, equipment or machines for defects
Stand, sit or walk for long periods or an entire shift
Move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects up to 50 pounds without help
Grasp, turn and handle objects of different sizes and weights with fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination
Move through narrow, confined or elevated spaces, and up and down stairs or service ramps
Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling and stooping
Perform other reasonable duties as requested by supervisors

High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
At least 2 years of related work experience
At least 1 year of supervisory experience
Able to stand, sit or walk for extended periods or a full shift
Able to move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects up to 50 pounds without assistance
Able to grasp, turn and manipulate objects of varying size and weight
