About the role
This role sits within the Private Banking lending team for the GSAC segment, covering key footprint markets. You will help originate and structure bespoke financing for private banking clients while keeping a close eye on underlying risks. It suits someone with credit underwriting and financial analysis experience who enjoys working closely with relationship managers and senior lenders.
What you'll do
Support the lending strategy for the private banking region both locally and globally
Originate lending deals by providing client-focused solutions to private banking GSAC clients, acting as first line of defence for risk management
Deepen understanding of lending products by engaging with relationship managers and clients
Help the team meet its budget by closing new lending deals promptly
Analyse and assess bespoke financing cases alongside relevant teams, including financial conditions, operations and market position of the underlying company
Work closely with a senior lender from start to finish on loan execution
Prepare client proposals, pitchbooks and industry updates
Track market and general financial and economic developments
Take part in projects that drive lending initiatives
Collaborate with frontline teams, support functions, business partners and product specialists to deliver effective client solutions
Support the private bank's short and longer-term objectives
Ensure timely turnaround on tasks including enquiries from relationship managers and clients, and ongoing reviews of existing accounts
Assist with annual renewal cases and reviews
Meet clients and tailor lending solutions to their needs and the bank's risk appetite
Coach and guide relationship managers and client service managers on credit-related matters
Support relationship managers in the credit process and follow Global LST Rules of Engagement
Comply with internal policies, procedures, codes and applicable external laws and regulations
Contribute to and lead parts of credit process upgrades
Avoid reputational risks and operational losses by doing what is right
Understand the risk and control environment and drive rectifications as needed
Implement the risk management framework in the team, with appropriate controls and processes to identify, manage, monitor and report risk
Ensure systems and procedures safeguard the security, integrity and confidentiality of information
Ensure systems and controls comply with Group and Business policies, procedures, standards and codes across risk types, compliance, operational risk, technology and operations, finance and reputation
Ensure the team receives regular training on regulatory compliance policies and processes including Treating Customers Fairly, Suitability, KYC, AML, CDD, AOD, sanctions laws and terrorist financing
Uphold the highest standards of ethics and compliance with relevant policies, processes and regulations

Requirements
Bachelor's degree or MBA
Strong financial analysis skills and experience
Market knowledge
Private banking or credit underwriting experience
Understanding of regulatory framework and requirements
Business communication skills
