About the role
A full-time Chef de Partie role at Courtyard by Marriott Singapore Novena on Irrawaddy Road. You will prepare and cook food to recipe and presentation standards, keep food logs, and help keep the kitchen running smoothly during busy periods. It suits cooks with several years of related kitchen experience who can work as part of a team and set a good example for others.
Regulate the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills and roasters
Move food from freezer storage to the refrigerator to thaw
Ensure correct portioning, arrangement and garnish
Maintain food logs
Monitor the quality and quantity of food prepared
Ask for help when things get busy
Tell the Chef about excess food items so they can be used in daily specials
Let Food & Beverage service staff know about menu specials and items that are out of stock
Prepare and cook food following recipes, quality standards, presentation standards and the food preparation checklist
Prepare cold foods
Help management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counselling, disciplining and coaching staff, and act as a role model
Follow company safety and security policies and procedures
Report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries and unsafe work conditions to the manager
Complete safety training and certifications
Keep uniform and personal appearance clean and professional
Keep proprietary information confidential and protect company assets
Anticipate and address guests' service needs
Speak clearly and professionally with others
Build and maintain positive working relationships and support the team in reaching common goals
Listen and respond appropriately to other employees' concerns
Meet quality expectations and standards
Stand, sit or walk for long periods
Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling and stooping
Move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without help
Carry out other reasonable job duties as asked by Supervisors

Requirements
Technical, trade or vocational school degree preferred
At least 3 years of related work experience
No supervisory experience required
Able to stand, sit or walk for long periods

Able to move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects up to 25 pounds without help
