About the role
This role oversees rolling stock maintenance at Mandai Depot, leading teams responsible for keeping trains available and equipment performing to target. It suits an engineering professional with railway experience who can supervise preventive and corrective maintenance, manage faults, and support mainline operations. You will work closely with the Section Manager and other sections to coordinate activities and ensure safety and reliability.

Analyze and verify preventive and corrective maintenance work and defects or faults raised.
Provide technical and engineering support to the section.
Manage tools, calibration, and spares procurement.
Handle administration and control of staff within the preventive and corrective maintenance teams.
Raise incident and accident reports.
Administer contractor work, such as escorting for log downloads.
Assist the Section Manager with train faults, incidents and emergencies on the mainline.
Review preventive and corrective maintenance performed by staff on trains and locomotives.
Review and update work instructions, work reports and risk assessments periodically.
Raise work orders as needed.
Manage urgent checks and fleet-wide activities when required.
Assist the Section Manager in coordinating with other sections such as Rail Operations, Signaling, Communications, and Rolling Stock on mainline train faults.
Assist in budget planning, staff training requirements, and spares availability.
Perform rolling stock staff functions such as certification of machines, leave applications, and monetary claims.
Assist the Section Manager with proper maintenance of trains and depot equipment.
Be responsible for staff safety, conducting toolbox meetings and audits, sharing safety messages, and ensuring work follows safety procedures.
Lead productivity improvement, cost reduction and innovation through KAIZEN.
Mentor staff.

Requirements
University degree or polytechnic diploma in engineering (mechanical, electrical, marine or equivalent) from a recognized institution
Preferably 3-5 years relevant experience in a railway environment
