About the role
This role sits within Visa's Global Controllership team, specifically the Controllership Data and Process Excellence group, which uses data, analytics, automation and GenAI to improve finance processes and controls. The analyst will investigate process issues, spot anomalies and control gaps, and turn analysis into practical actions with measurable results. It suits someone with a few years of finance or accounting experience who enjoys problem-solving and working with data and AI tools.
What you'll do
Support the finance data warehouse rollout by testing and validating that data is complete, accurate and fit for purpose
Use existing and prospective data platforms to run recurring data extraction and reporting, and spot chances to simplify or automate the work
Build and maintain data, reporting or workflow automation solutions that cut manual effort and improve reliability
Document data sources, business rules, procedures and automation logic to support controls and continuity
Work with Controllership teams to understand operational pain points, process breakdowns, recurring exceptions and control risks
Analyse data and process evidence to find anomalies, root causes, control gaps and failure points
Separate symptoms from underlying issues and frame clear problem statements
Recommend practical corrective actions, preventive controls and process improvements
Track actions, owners, dependencies and outcomes to confirm issues are resolved and improvements last
Turn analysis into clear recommendations, prioritised follow-up actions and concise stakeholder updates
Define success measures and track outcomes such as reduced cycle time, fewer errors, stronger controls or lower manual effort
Coordinate with stakeholders to move decisions forward, remove dependencies and close gaps
Escalate unresolved risks, recurring failures and control concerns with clear supporting evidence
Use approved GenAI tools, including Claude, to analyse structured and unstructured information, synthesise findings and speed up problem solving
Translate finance use cases into effective prompts, decision logic, workflows and expected outputs
Prototype and support GenAI-enabled solutions that automate analysis, decisions, follow-up activities or operational workflows
Validate GenAI outputs for accuracy, relevance, consistency, usability and control considerations before business use
Document solution logic, assumptions, controls and improvement opportunities to support responsible adoption and continuity
Good to know
At least 3 days in office per week, with exact days confirmed by the hiring manager
Role involves a varied portfolio of Controllership initiatives across CDPE
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field
3-5 years of relevant experience
Foundational knowledge of finance or accounting operations, processes and controls
Strong problem-solving skills to investigate anomalies, identify root causes and recognise control or process gaps
Ability to convert analysis into practical recommendations, follow-up actions and measurable outcomes
Hands-on comfort using GenAI tools, including Claude, to analyse information and support automation of decisions or workflows
