About the role

You will be part of the Maintenance Operations department within the SIA Engineering Division, reporting to the Manager of Maintenance Operations. The role centres on giving round-the-clock technical guidance and support to Technical Handling Agents who service SIA and SIA subsidiary aircraft at line stations. It suits a licensed aircraft engineer with strong line experience who can work independently on shift.

What you'll do

Keep constant watch on the technical status of aircraft in flight for defects or technical issues

Give technical expertise and recommendations to flight crew while aircraft are in flight

Provide technical assistance and instructions to Technical Handling Agents at overseas stations so defects are fixed at the first opportune ground time

Work with all Technical Handling Agents to manage flights, flight delays and Aircraft on Ground situations

Work with other Engineering Departments, the SIA Operations Control Centre and other SIA Divisions on flights, delays and AOG situations

Source and track AOG and station spares usage and spare loans

Act as the focal point for engineering matters in SIA daily operations

Troubleshoot defects found at line stations

Keep all technical documents, both paper and electronic, up to date

Monitor planned work and unplanned rectification on night-stopped or stayover aircraft

Produce reports on technical delays and aircraft ground incidents

Requirements

Licensed Aircraft Engineer
Line work experience, preferably around 10 years
Excellent interpersonal skills for dealing with various user departments
Excellent planning and organisation skills
Able to work independently
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
