Room Controller

About the role

Monitor daily room occupancy, arrivals, departures and room status, and coordinate cleaning priorities based on arrival times and VIP needs. Assign rooms to Room Attendants and track cleaning progress throughout the shift, following up on outstanding rooms. Work closely with Front Office and Engineering on room readiness, defects and maintenance issues, and escalate prolonged out-of-order rooms. Maintain accurate records of room assignments and status, and support supervisors during peak periods. Ensure room readiness meets hotel check-in standards and guest requests are followed up promptly.

Requirements

• Previous experience in Housekeeping, Front Office or hotel operations preferred
• Good understanding of hotel room operations and room status terminology
• Experience with hotel Property Management Systems (PMS) is an advantage
• Strong coordination, organisation and communication skills
• Able to multitask and prioritise in a fast-paced environment
• Good attention to detail and accuracy
