Experience Some experience About the role This role supports a specialised workgroup, providing advanced assessment and treatment for patients referred to physiotherapy. You will also help supervise physiotherapists within the team and work closely with doctors and other healthcare colleagues. It suits an experienced physiotherapist who is comfortable working independently and taking on some supervisory and project duties.
What you'll do Assess and treat patients referred for physiotherapy on your own, putting suitable treatment plans in place using specialist knowledge. Report back to the referring doctor and other members of the medical team. Keep patient physiotherapy records accurate and up to date. Handle patient charging accurately. Register new patients. Help supervise Physiotherapists I and II in the workgroup.
Work within your professional competence and seek clinical support from a supervisor or other healthcare professionals when needed.
Work with other healthcare members and take part in case conferences.
Help prepare monthly performance reports for the workgroup.
Help monitor the workgroup's key performance indicators, including clinical and service quality, revenue and productivity.
Co-lead clinical research projects linked to the workgroup.
Prepare and regularly update the inventory of therapy equipment for the workgroup.
Help review and update clinical protocols and SOPs.
Help manage projects assigned to the workgroup.
Co-lead departmental activities such as QC.
Help develop, promote and market new clinical services.
Help with budgeting for the workgroup.
Help develop and coordinate the clinical education programme for physiotherapy students attached to the workgroup.
Help induct new physiotherapists deployed to the workgroup.
Contribute to departmental in-service training, hospital educational talks and external talks, workshops, forums or seminars.
Help identify the training needs of staff in the workgroup.
Build strategic networks with healthcare practitioners at NUH.
