About the role
This in-house legal role sits within the Legal & Compliance team at Changi Airport Group, working closely with the Changi East Development and Engineering & Development teams on complex infrastructure projects, including the Terminal 5 development. It suits a mid-level lawyer with a grounding in commercial contracts, projects or disputes who wants to build deeper expertise in construction law. The work is demanding and high-pressure given the scale and public importance of the projects, but it is meaningful and intellectually engaging, with support from more experienced members of the Construction Legal Team.

Advise on tenders, procurement and project documentation.
Draft, review and negotiate construction, consultancy and maintenance contracts.
Assess potential risk exposure and whether caveats or qualifications raised by business partners or tender bidders can be accepted or need negotiation against CAG's standard terms.
Help develop, review and negotiate non-standard terms for non-conventional business partnerships, such as collaborative contracting, innovation experiments, product reseller and revenue sharing agreements, service partnerships in foreign countries, and new business engagements and revenue/cost structuring.
Manage and resolve disputes through negotiation, mediation, litigation and/or arbitration.
Support contract administration by reviewing and drafting letters and advising project teams on contract interpretation, contractual claims, delays and variations throughout the project lifecycle.
Work with external counsel and other advisers on specialist matters, including preparing instructions, reviewing advice and managing deliverables and costs.
Develop templates, guidance materials and legal know-how, and support legal training for project and procurement teams.
Act as a proactive business partner delivering solutions-oriented legal support in a fast-paced environment.
