About the role
Nxera is hiring a Commissioning Manager to lead commissioning of critical infrastructure in data centres, covering mechanical, electrical and control systems across APAC projects. You will work with consultants, contractors, vendors and operations teams to confirm systems perform reliably before handover. This suits an experienced engineering professional who is comfortable with mission critical facilities and regional travel.
What you'll do
Manage the commissioning process and the contracted commissioning consultant for assigned APAC projects.
Oversee end-to-end commissioning, including Factory Acceptance Testing, Site Acceptance Testing, Integrated Systems Testing and Performance Verification.
Review commissioning plans, scripts and checklists against design intent.
Work with the internal Development and Design team to uphold safety, quality and global best practices for Singtel and customer requirements.
Coordinate with consultants, contractors, vendors and operations teams for a smooth transition from construction to operational handover.
Oversee functional performance testing and failure mode testing of critical systems such as UPS switchover, generator load banks and cooling failover.
Identify and resolve design flaws, installation errors or performance gaps before facility go-live.
Review and improve documentation implementation on the commissioning platform.
Conduct onsite reviews and audits of the commissioning process across APAC.
Review mechanical, electrical and control system designs for new builds, fit-outs and retrofits, including consultant design stages, shop drawings, as-built drawings, specifications and O&M documents.
Ensure designs meet local regulations, energy efficiency targets and client SLA requirements.
Drive the lessons learnt process for each project and mitigation for future implementation.
Other relevant duties may be assigned from time to time.
Good to know
Travel is required at least 20%, roughly one week a month.

Requirements
At least 8 years of working experience, with a minimum of 4 years in mission critical design
Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or a relevant discipline
In-depth understanding of critical data centre mechanical and electrical systems
Experience reading and interpreting technical specifications, data sheets, curves, design, equipment and construction specifications and drawings
Knowledge of ACMV systems, hydraulic systems and thermodynamics refrigeration cycles
Able to understand engineering calculations such as cooling load and hydraulic calculations, and equipment sizing and selection for chillers, pumps, cooling towers and air handlers
