About the role

This role involves end-to-end delivery of cloud-native platforms, from solution design and application development through QC testing, CI/CD automation and ongoing optimisation. You will manage Kubernetes operations, infrastructure provisioning and software upgrades to keep systems reliable, secure and scalable. The position suits an experienced engineer who is comfortable with on-call rotations, incident resolution and customer care in a team setting.

What you'll do

Design, develop and maintain scalable microservices using Java, Spring Boot and related frameworks.
Apply Apache Camel and its Enterprise Integration Patterns.
Implement RESTful APIs that meet performance, security and stability requirements.
Write clean, well-tested code following best practices and design patterns.
Develop and manage services on OpenShift/Kubernetes, including Dockerfiles and Kubernetes resource configurations.
Work with CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins for automated build, test and deployment.
Monitor and troubleshoot services in the OpenShift environment.
Contribute to microservices architecture design, focusing on loose coupling, high cohesion and fault tolerance.
Implement data persistence using relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB and Redis.
Integrate services using messaging systems such as Red Hat AMQ.
Perform code reviews to maintain quality and share knowledge.
Ensure compliance with security standards by running SAST, DAST and SCA scans and disaster recovery exercises.
Support on-call duty on shift rotation and handle production incidents and root cause analysis with minimal supervision.
Build technical documentation from scratch, including architecture overviews, API specifications and system integrations.
Create and maintain operational runbooks for the team and internal stakeholders.

Good to know

On-call duty on shift rotation is required.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field
At least 3 years of professional experience developing enterprise applications with Java and Spring Boot
Strong understanding of microservices architecture and RESTful API design and consumption
Proficient with Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift for deployment and orchestration
Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
Familiarity with Git, Maven/Gradle and CI/CD tools
