About the role

You will run and improve the Accounts Payable operations at GovTech, making sure payments go out accurately and on time while keeping proper controls in place. This is a hands-on operations role where you will also spot recurring problems, refine processes, and work with Finance, Procurement and business teams to strengthen the payment process. It suits someone with AP or finance operations experience who enjoys solving operational issues and improving how things work.

What you'll do

Manage daily Accounts Payable work such as invoice processing, payment runs, exception handling and queries from suppliers or internal teams
Track outstanding invoices, payment problems and operational backlogs, and push issues to resolution

Support AP reconciliations, month-end closing and audit requirements

Look into recurring errors or bottlenecks and improve processes, controls and workflows

Work with Procurement, Finance and business teams to resolve issues across the procure-to-pay process

Use operational data to monitor AP performance, spot problem areas and back process improvements

Support system and process changes, including testing and rolling out improvements to Finance workflows

Keep AP procedures and controls clear, practical and consistently applied

This is a 1 year contract position with potential for extension or conversion

Requirements

Relevant experience in Accounts Payable, Finance operations or a similar operational Finance role
Good understanding of invoice-to-payment processes, reconciliations and Finance controls
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to independently investigate and resolve operational issues
Comfortable working with Finance/ERP systems and using data to manage operations
Experience improving processes rather than only operating within established procedures
Able to work effectively with stakeholders across different functions and explain Finance requirements clearly
