About the role
This senior engineering leadership role sits within the Wealth and Retail Banking technology function of a global bank in Singapore. You will guide multiple squads in delivering secure, scalable platforms and solutions, working closely with product, design, architecture and operations partners. It suits an experienced engineering lead who can combine hands-on technical depth with strategic direction and stakeholder influence.
What you'll do
Align technical solutions with organisational strategy and long-term goals

Define frameworks and standards for products
Contribute to process improvement and innovation
Work with IT Change and Release Managers on strategic delivery and release plans with technical dependencies
Ensure technical consistency with business and enterprise technology standards
Foster continuous learning and technical excellence within squads
Work with cross-functional teams and influence technical adoption by squad teams
Mitigate technical risks and ensure high-quality delivery
Ensure compliance with application security and regulatory standards
Manage technical risks throughout the delivery lifecycle
Support solutions to achieve ERR treatment plans
Proactively identify and address potential risks
Ensure compliance with bank compliance guidelines and standards, including data protection
Ensure product and solution development aligns with enterprise architecture and standards
Maintain consistency in technical practices across squads
Lead governance of application and platform-specific technical standards
Address tech compliance (ESDLC) requirements throughout delivery
Represent the subdomain in architecture forums and drive vendor solutions in line with organisational standards

Requirements
15+ years of software engineering experience, with a proven track record as an Engineering Lead or Solution Lead in large-scale enterprise environments
Mandatory hands-on experience implementing AI/ML solutions in a banking environment, ideally within Wealth or Private Banking use cases such as client insights, personalisation or RM tools
Strong expertise in solutioning and architecture design, translating business requirements into scalable, secure and compliant technology solutions
Deep understanding of SDLC and Agile/Lean methodologies, with experience delivering complex initiatives in Agile environments
Solid experience with API-led architecture, microservices and integration technologies such as MQ, Kafka or Solace
Strong technical foundation in J2EE, OOA/OOP principles and modern engineering practices
