About the role
A full-time Business Risk Manager role at a private bank in Singapore, working across business lines and support functions to identify, assess and reduce enterprise-wide risk. You will partner with senior stakeholders so that risks are properly understood, monitored and managed in line with the bank's risk appetite, regulatory duties and strategic goals. It suits an experienced risk, compliance or audit professional who is comfortable working with senior management and handling complexity.
What you'll do
Support the setup, operation and upkeep of a consistent Business Risk Management framework alongside CRO functions, covering front-related risk governance, policy standards, training and reporting
Provide risk input into business initiatives and cases
Identify risks and review and challenge processes, systems and people, then propose mitigating measures

Support the Head of BRM on thematic and business-specific risk reviews
Make significant risks visible to management and ensure they are mitigated or accepted
Contribute to management reporting
Take part in Market Management Committees on risk management topics
Flag misconduct to Front Management
Ensure close, systematic collaboration and information flow between the 1st and 2nd lines of defence
Support supervisory reviews, audits and internal or external reviews
Demonstrate appropriate values and behaviours, including honesty, integrity, due care, fair dealing, conflict of interest management, competence, continuous development, risk management and regulatory compliance
Initiate measures with stakeholders when review results are negative, and define and monitor interim risk mitigation
Identify training needs, help shape risk training and awareness content, and support frontline communication
Analyse front-to-back processes from a risk angle
Support and monitor risks, and manage incidents and remediation measures or projects
Help ensure front-related audit issues from regulators, external auditors and GIA are resolved on time

Requirements
University degree or equivalent education in banking and/or finance
10 to 15 years of relevant working experience in the financial industry, preferably private banking
Sound understanding of risk management concepts in a banking environment
Prior experience in a risk and control function such as risk, compliance or internal audit is highly regarded
Proficiency in risk management frameworks and methodologies
Knowledge of compliance frameworks and regulatory expectations in banking is a strong asset
