About the role

This role drives catering and events revenue for a hotel on Orchard Road through direct sales and client relationship building. You will work with clients on event logistics and accommodation needs, and coordinate with banquet and other hotel departments to deliver successful functions. It suits someone with hospitality sales experience who is confident dealing with clients and suppliers.

What you'll do

Work with Banquet and other departments to deliver agreed event services
Communicate and coordinate daily with all hotel departments to promote teamwork and service quality
Build strong relationships with meeting and event organisers and keep their requirements up to date
Manage event functions to hit departmental revenue targets
Follow up on potential sales leads
Design and plan meeting packages to improve conversions and profitability
Negotiate and review meeting and event packages for clients
Represent the hotel at roadshows and events when required
Produce monthly sales reports and forecasts for your assigned area
Prepare contracts for confirmed meeting events
Keep up to date with current meeting and competitor packages in the market
Deal with clients and suppliers in a confident, professional way
Promote guest satisfaction and encourage referrals
Handle guest feedback and resolve complaints
Maintain client files and update information daily per departmental policies
Follow up with clients during and after their stay to check satisfaction
Monitor inquiry calls and prepare client proposals per departmental policies
Prepare event orders, proposals, confirmations and other agreements
Maintain close working relationships with vendors and partners
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

Diploma or degree in Marketing, Tourism, Hospitality Management, Travel or a related field
2-3 years of sales experience in the hospitality industry
Good communication skills and shows initiative
Well versed in systems such as Opera
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Flexible work approach
