About the role

This role is for a Chef de Partie at Akira Back, a restaurant located within JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach. You will be part of the kitchen team, preparing and cooking food to recipe and presentation standards while keeping the kitchen running smoothly during busy periods. Prepare special meals or substitute items as needed
Regulate the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters
Pull food from freezer storage to thaw in the refrigerator
Ensure correct portioning, arrangement, and food garnish
Maintain food logs
Monitor the quality and quantity of food prepared
Communicate when assistance is needed during busy periods
Inform the Chef about excess food items for use in daily specials
Inform Food & Beverage service staff about menu specials and out-of-stock items
Prepare and cook food following recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and the food preparation checklist
Prepare cold foods
Follow company safety and security policies and procedures
Report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the manager
Complete safety training and certifications
Keep uniform and personal appearance clean and professional
Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets
Anticipate and address guests' service needs
Speak with others using clear and professional language
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others and support the team to reach common goals
Listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees
Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards
Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods
Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance
Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors

Requirements

Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree preferred
At least 3 years of related work experience
No supervisory experience required
No license or certification required
Able to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods
Able to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
