About the role
This role is for a Chef de Partie specialising in local cuisine at JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach. You will be part of the hotel's culinary team, preparing and cooking food to recipe and presentation standards. It suits someone with at least three years of related kitchen experience and a technical, trade or vocational qualification.
Prepare special meals or substitute items as needed
Regulate the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills and roasters
Move food from freezer storage to the refrigerator to thaw
Ensure correct portioning, arrangement and garnishing of dishes
Keep food logs up to date
Monitor the quality and quantity of food prepared
Ask for help during busy periods
Tell the Chef about excess food items so they can be used in daily specials
Inform Food & Beverage service staff about menu specials and items that are out of stock
Prepare and cook food following recipes, quality standards, presentation standards and the food preparation checklist
Prepare cold foods
Follow company safety and security policies and procedures
Report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries and unsafe work conditions to the manager
Complete safety training and certifications
Keep uniform and personal appearance clean and professional
Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets
Anticipate and address guests' service needs
Communicate clearly and professionally with others
Build and maintain positive working relationships and support the team in reaching common goals
Listen and respond appropriately to colleagues' concerns
Ensure work meets quality expectations and standards
Stand, sit or walk for extended periods
Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling and stooping
Move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance
Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors
