About the role
This role is based at JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach, where you will help keep the property, guests and staff safe. It suits someone who stays calm in emergencies, pays close attention to detail, and can work on their feet for long periods. No prior security experience is needed.
What you'll do
Patrol all areas of the property and help guests with room access
Monitor CCTV, perimeter alarms, duress alarms and the fire life safety system
Lock property entrances when required
Carry out daily physical hazard inspections
Respond to accidents and contact EMS or give first aid/CPR as needed
Assist guests and employees during emergency situations
Notify the right people when accidents, attacks or other incidents happen
Defuse disturbances involving guests or employees
Call for outside help when necessary
Write incident reports for all security and loss prevention matters
Handle interruptions and complaints
Resolve safety hazard situations
Escort unwelcome persons off the property without disrupting operations
Attend scenes of vehicle accidents or thefts
Use correct code responses when calling for assistance
Complete a loss prevention shift summary or daily activity report
Keep security and property reports and documents confidential, sharing only with authorised people
Conduct investigations, gather evidence and interview relevant parties
Follow company policies and procedures, report accidents, injuries and unsafe conditions to your manager, and complete safety training and certifications
Keep your uniform and personal appearance clean and professional, protect company assets and maintain confidentiality of proprietary information
Welcome guests to company standards, anticipate and address their needs, assist individuals with disabilities and thank guests genuinely
Communicate clearly and professionally, and prepare and review written documents accurately
Build positive working relationships and support the team in reaching common goals
Meet quality assurance expectations and standards
Stand, sit or walk for extended periods, including for a whole shift
Read and visually verify information in various formats, including small print
Visually inspect tools, equipment or machines to spot defects
Enter and find work-related information using computers or point of sale systems
Move at the speed needed to respond to situations, such as running, walking or jogging
Move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects up to 50 pounds without help, and over 75 pounds with help
Grasp, turn and handle objects of different sizes and weights, using fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination
Move through narrow, confined or elevated spaces
Move over sloping, uneven or slippery surfaces, and up and down stairs or service ramps
Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling and stooping
Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors
