About the role
A full-time compliance role with Julius Baer in Singapore, sitting in the Periodic Review team within the Risk, Legal and Compliance division. You will handle review and approval of high and highest risk existing client relationships, portfolios and accounts booked in the Singapore branch, working closely with front office, onboarding, investigations and risk teams. It suits someone with private banking or wealth management compliance experience who is analytical, organised and comfortable juggling several assignments at once.
What you'll do
Support the CRO and senior branch management in meeting external and internal regulatory expectations and in managing operational, regulatory and reputational risk
Act as part of the Periodic Review team of compliance officers for the Singapore branch
Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders including front office, client documentation services, KYC/AML onboarding, AML investigations and risk management
Support the heads of AML/KYC Singapore and Periodic Review on review of existing accounts, including uplifting and identifying KYC and source of wealth information and reviewing new or incremental CDD risk
Guide local and overseas relationship managers in their periodic review submissions, covering KYC profile changes, account structure changes and newly identified adverse news and risk elements
Handle ad-hoc KYC/CDD matters and enquiries from regulators, internal and external auditors and head office
Review client profiles for the review period against internal and latest regulatory AML/CFT/CDD standards, checking completeness, consistency and accuracy of KYC information, adequacy of source of wealth narratives and plausibility assessments
Perform client risk assessments and due diligence analysis focused on high and highest risk profiles
Assess and address incremental AML/KYC risk found during review and escalate it
Review and assess name screening results using Google, World-Check and Factiva
Review transactions from the review period, check alignment with the client's risk profile and investigate anything suspicious
Take part in projects, process improvements and discussions on KYC/CDD
Uphold standards on honesty, integrity, due care, fair dealing, conflicts of interest, competence and continuous development
Ensure KYC/CDD issues are properly identified, assessed and documented, and escalate promptly where measures cannot be completed or suspicious activity is found
Good to know
Full-time role based in Singapore
You will work with relationship managers in Hong Kong, Thailand and Dubai
Proficiency in other Asian languages is an advantage
Requirements
At least 3–6 years' experience in KYC onboarding, periodic review or AML roles in private banking or wealth management
A good degree and understanding of the private banking and wealth management industry
Strong knowledge of the MAS 626 Notice and Guidelines
Experience managing AML/CFT-related regulatory inspections, external or internal audits and strategic projects
PC proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Strong personality with good organisational skills
