About the role

This role supports bioinformatics research at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, with a focus on cancer genomics and cancer screening. You will analyse genomic and clinical data and help build cancer survival prediction models. It suits someone with a background in bioinformatics, data science or a related field, including entry-level candidates.

What you'll do

Analyse and interpret cancer genomic and related clinical data using bioinformatics and statistical methods
Perform data cleaning, quality control and integration, and keep reproducible analysis scripts and records

Help develop and evaluate survival prediction models for breast cancer research

Provide day-to-day bioinformatics support to the PhD student, including analyses and figures for thesis completion and defence

Work with the research team on grant proposals, figures, reports and manuscripts, and communicate findings

Requirements

Masters or equivalent in Bioinformatics, Data Science, Computational Biology, Genomics, Biostatistics or a related field
Experience in bioinformatics or genomic data analysis through coursework, research projects or employment
Familiarity with cancer genomics and statistical methods
Good written and oral communication skills
Proficiency in R or Python for data analysis and visualisation
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
