About the role
This role supports the daily running of ion implantation, rapid thermal annealing and related thermal processes, keeping tools stable and process reliability high. You will work closely with equipment engineers, technicians, integration teams and tool vendors in a cleanroom semiconductor environment. It suits an experienced process engineer who is comfortable with data analytics, SPC and hands-on troubleshooting.
What you'll do
Monitor and maintain Implant/RTA performance using SPC, structured analytics and data-driven fault detection.
Build statistical models or machine learning workflows to predict drift, equipment degradation or unusual behaviour.
Maintain and improve process recipes covering dose control, energy accuracy, tilt/twist angles, anneal temperature profiles and soak times.
Keep day-to-day process SPC stable and address out-of-control conditions and yield-impacting trends.
Run routine process checks and qualification wafers, and verify performance against control limits.
Lead defect reduction, contamination control and process recovery after maintenance.
Detect early tool drift or implant misalignment and automate trend and anomaly detection.
Support DOE studies focused on operational stability and corrective actions.
Troubleshoot ion implanter and RTA equipment issues with equipment engineers and tool vendors.
Support system calibration, beam tuning, wafer temperature profiling, recipe setup and equipment qualification.
Lead improvements in tool stability, beam quality, thermal control accuracy and wafer-to-wafer repeatability.
Ensure safe handling of high-energy ion beam systems and thermal processing tools in line with cleanroom protocols.
Drive tool matching and chamber qualification for consistent results across multiple tools.
Lead troubleshooting for tool alarms, hardware failures, sensor issues, beam tuning instability or unexpected drift.
Support installation, acceptance tests, calibrations and upgrades for new Implant/RTA systems.
Partner with equipment engineers, technicians and integration teams on safety and compliance activities.
Interface with vendors on tool issues, performance improvement and software/hardware updates.
Maintain structured documentation including SOPs, process recipes, qualification reports, failure analysis documents and continuous improvement proposals.
Document process changes, recipe updates and corrective action reports.
Present experimental results, data analytics insights and recommendations to R&D and management teams.
Good to know
Based in Singapore.
Familiarity with Epitaxy (Epi) processes is advantageous.
Requirements
Experience sustaining ion implantation and RTA or related thermal processes
Knowledge of SPC and data-driven process control
Able to develop statistical models or machine learning workflows
Hands-on troubleshooting of ion implanter and RTA equipment
Familiar with cleanroom protocols and safe handling of high-energy ion beam systems
Able to maintain process documentation such as SOPs and qualification reports
