About the role

This role supports the Global Head of Capital Projects and Global Head of Estates in shaping a long-term pipeline strategy for capital works. You will coordinate regional project delivery teams to ensure the capex programme is delivered effectively, working closely with procurement, enablement and commercial colleagues. It suits an experienced programme management professional from the commercial property sector who is comfortable leading large-scale capital projects.

What you'll do

Develop long-term strategy for the Capital Projects programme.
Act as a key member of the integrated Estates team, delivering commercially assured projects aligned to group objectives.
Take accountability for multi-year regional programme planning, delivery execution, handover and stakeholder endorsements.
Mentor and train staff across disciplines.
Coordinate and review programme-wide monthly reporting covering health and safety, schedule, cost, risk and design management.
Oversee pre-contract activities such as budget setting, project planning, business cases and use of centralised frameworks and contracts.
Oversee post-contract activities to ensure efficient project execution, commercial management and contract management.
Drive consistency and continuous improvement across project delivery teams.
Implement and assure the Programme Management Plan.
Ensure the Project Management Plan supports proactive management at each project lifecycle stage.
Lead project delivery teams through procurement to achieve best value.
Support the Procurement Lead on supplier performance and capability.
Support the Enablement Lead on delivery processes and systems for project and commercial data.
Support the Regional Commercial Manager and estimating teams on cost assurance and budget impact of design solutions.
Manage the stakeholder change process and associated costs.
Manage stakeholder relationships during development and handover.
Support Project Managers in commercial management of construction contractors.
Promote an open, collaborative working culture.
Provide strategic advice on change, including scope changes, and prepare documentation for approval.
Identify and advise on programme risk and issue events.
Support risk quantification through the risk management process.
Support meeting structures and schedule and cost reporting, including HSE compliance, design compliance, governance and assurance.
Monitor handover activities to ensure timely transition to operations.
Generate and implement continuous improvement proposals.

Requirements

Extensive experience at Programme Manager and Assurance level
Experience leading teams on large-scale capital projects and programmes
Programme management experience in the commercial property sector
Programme reporting and financial management experience
Due diligence experience
Risk and opportunity management experience
