About the role

This role leads the engineering effort behind StarHub's core CRM and Order Management platforms, which support customer onboarding, sales journeys and fulfilment for the Consumer Business. You will work in a DevOps model focused on reliability, scalability and production excellence, mentoring engineers along the way. It suits an experienced backend or platform engineer who enjoys owning large enterprise systems end to end.

What you'll do

Own delivery and reliability of CRM/OM services across customer management, product catalogue, campaigns, order management and revenue/billing integration
Lead design and build of scalable backend services and workflow-driven processes for order lifecycle orchestration
Review and govern API design and integration patterns across billing, provisioning/OSS systems, digital channels and external partners

Ensure API reliability, versioning and backward compatibility across services

Improve workflow reliability through better failure handling, retry mechanisms and state management for long-running and asynchronous processes

Oversee data integrity and performance across CRM/OM domains, guiding SQL optimisation and keeping order, provisioning and billing flows consistent

Lead DevOps work including on-call support, incident response, root cause analysis and preventive fixes

Reduce recurring incidents through systemic improvements and observability insights

Keep services running stably on Kubernetes (EKS), covering deployment, scaling and troubleshooting

Drive improvements in CI/CD pipelines, release automation and deployment governance

Build and enhance observability with Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana and CloudWatch, ensuring SLA adherence for availability and performance

Conduct design and code reviews to uphold engineering standards and best practices

Mentor engineers and guide the team on debugging, system design and production readiness

Work with Product Owners, QA, DevOps and vendors to deliver reliable end-to-end customer experiences

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field
6–10 years of professional software engineering experience, ideally with CRM, BSS or other large-scale enterprise platforms
Hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices and distributed systems
Advanced SQL skills in PostgreSQL and/or Oracle, including performance tuning, query optimisation and database administration
Experience running services on Kubernetes-based platforms and cloud environments, preferably AWS
Experience in Agile/Scrum teams within telecom BSS/OSS domains such as CRM, billing or order management
