About the role
This role leads mechanical, plumbing and fire protection design review for data centre projects, working with client consultants and contractors on critical infrastructure builds. You will join a technical team supporting design quality, coordination and delivery across multiple disciplines. It suits an experienced mechanical engineer who enjoys detailed design review, stakeholder coordination and problem solving.
What you'll do
Review and align mechanical, plumbing and fire protection drawings and design documentation using cloud platforms, escalating critical items that affect schedule and cost.
Attend design meetings and give input to optimise design and reduce unnecessary work.
Report issues, progress and blockers to the Technical Program Manager and Technical Lead.

Provide technical support for systems identified for off-site manufacture and suggest design-for-manufacture improvements.
Coordinate with internal and external partners to maintain technical, safety, schedule, cost and quality requirements.
Work with approved vendors and contractors on designs and equipment to ensure alignment with client standards and guidelines.
Carry out technical support, analysis and calculations for mechanical, plumbing and fire protection systems, including design studies for new projects.
Use standard checklists, trackers and tools to perform QA/QC peer review of design documents.
Help develop scope-of-works and contract document deliverables lists for new scope.
Escalate design issues affecting other disciplines and ensure clear communication and timely alignment across teams.
Analyse designs in Revit and Solidworks through cloud platforms for optimisation opportunities.
Ensure timely review and close out of deliverable issues.
Maintain scope and log changes or issues, including preparing studies or presentations on design, cost and schedule impacts.
Update owner standard documentation such as specifications and programming documents as design improvements are made.
Support internal and external teams with thermal, hydraulic, CFD and acoustic studies.
Ensure designs meet regulations and standards in guidelines, OPRs, narratives and specifications for identified European countries.
Provide administrative assistance on project documentation including revision control, deliverable tracking and final upload to the AODocs cloud database.

Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services or a related field.
Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) license preferred.
At least 15 years of relevant experience designing and managing mechanical systems for newbuild or infrastructure fit-out projects.
In-depth knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, codes, standards and practices for infrastructure fit-out projects.
Proficiency in mechanical design software and tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, BIM350, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) and HVAC system simulation software.
Strong understanding of HVAC systems including cooling towers, chillers, air handling units and control systems.
