About the role

This senior role leads the event management function at The St. Regis Singapore, covering event planning, banquets and catering, event service and event technology. You will oversee the whole event lifecycle, from handover between sales and operations and back again, while growing revenue and keeping the team motivated. It suits an experienced hospitality or event operations leader who is comfortable managing budgets, people and brand standards in a luxury hotel setting.

What you'll do

Research and analyse competitors' products, pricing and services
Review scheduled events with direct reports and resolve potential challenges or conflicts
Keep the property informed about groups that will affect its operations
Work with the culinary team to meet food handling and sanitation standards
Oversee event operations, including banquets, event services and event technology
Oversee the event planning team, including BEO and resume writers
Make sure meeting space and back-of-house areas are clean and well maintained
Keep furniture and equipment maintained and inventory in line with corporate guidelines
Lead the rollout of brand service initiatives across event management areas
Develop and execute an event management strategy aligned with the brand's business strategy
Set expectations and hold the event management leadership team accountable for service behaviours
Communicate departmental goals clearly and consistently to achieve results
Identify key business drivers and keep the team focused on the critical few
Integrate departmental goals into game plans
Implement brand and regional business initiatives and share follow-up actions with the team
Encourage calculated risk-taking to grow revenue and deliver excellent guest service
Work directly with major groups when the profile and financial impact are significant
Build relationships with outside vendors, set prices and service agreements to enhance events and increase revenue
Create an atmosphere across event operations that meets or exceeds guest expectations
Consult with customers to establish objectives and requirements for meetings, conferences and conventions
Review and respond to Event Satisfaction Survey results
Work with Human Resources to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
Review property-specific event operations annually and make adjustments
Review staffing levels to meet guest service and operational needs
Communicate and ensure departmental and property emergency procedures are followed
Ensure ongoing communication across event operations, such as BEO meetings, pre-event briefings, staff meetings, and with food and beverage and culinary teams
