About the role

This role is the technical authority for StarHub's core CRM and order management platforms, which support customer onboarding, sales journeys and fulfilment for the Consumer Business. You will define and evolve the platform architecture so it stays scalable, resilient and ready for rapid product innovation, working within a DevOps model. It suits a senior engineer with deep architecture experience in large distributed systems who enjoys guiding other engineers and shaping standards across teams.

What you'll do

Own the end-to-end architecture of the CRM and order management platforms, covering customer management, product catalogue, campaigns, order management and revenue/billing integration
Set architectural principles and standards for microservices, API design, workflow orchestration and data management

Design and optimise workflow orchestration for order lifecycle processes, with scalability and fault tolerance in mind

Improve platform scalability and performance by finding bottlenecks across APIs, databases and workflows

Govern data architecture so data stays consistent and flows efficiently between CRM, provisioning and billing systems

Establish API and integration standards, including versioning, idempotency and reliability patterns

Lead platform modernisation, including moving from legacy CRM systems to cloud-native CRM architecture

Reduce technical debt and complexity through modularisation, decoupling and standardisation

Define observability and reliability strategies, including monitoring, alerting and performance optimisation

Work with DevOps and platform teams on scalable cloud-native solutions using Kubernetes (EKS), CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code

Act as technical authority for design decisions, running architecture reviews and aligning with enterprise architecture and business goals

Mentor CRM engineers on system design, architectural thinking and advanced debugging

Influence cross-functional teams and stakeholders to adopt consistent engineering standards and best practices

Collaborate with Product Owners, QA, DevOps and vendors to deliver end-to-end customer journeys

Good to know

Based in Singapore
Preferred certifications: Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD), and AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional)

Requirements

At least 10 years of professional software engineering experience, with strong emphasis on system architecture and large-scale distributed systems
Proven ability to design, evolve and operate enterprise-critical platforms, especially in CRM, OM, BSS or similar domains
Deep expertise in microservices and distributed system design
Deep expertise in API design, integration patterns and service contracts
Deep expertise in workflow-driven and orchestration-based systems
Deep expertise in data architecture, modelling and database performance optimisation
